The Plan of Our Future

We live on a small island, and traffic isn't as smooth as it used to be. Hence, we need to reduce the number of cars on the roads. I get that.

So you increase the costs to get a car, and increase the number of taxies. I get that too.

Now, you increase the prices of taking a cab. What in fuck's sake is the point in hiking the price up this high? What used to be a $15 ride, increased till about $18. We accepted that. But now, it's up to $23?! This is seriously getting ridiculous!

And what do we see now, dear one and all? We see people preferring to purchase a car instead. Seems more worthwhile anyway. So what do they do?? They decide that the ERP gantries are not enough. Another 17 such ERP gantries are added around the island. So now everyone needs to pay more and it will turn people off from getting cars.

So, now getting a car is even more expensive, and taking a cab is equally as bad. So people have turned to the MRT. Hence, lately we've seen reports of how terrible the peak hour crowds are on the trains, and we see more people fainting or hyperventilating on the trains.

What next?

Ah, the ever trusty bicycle. Wait a minute. Isn't that taking a step back in time? Oh, I get it! So the plan is for us to backtrack and go back to the good ol' bicycle and trishaw days. Is this a way to preserve our history? My, my, what an absolutely ingenious plan! I have to say, it must have taken years or planning to think up of something as fantastic as this.

I can only say, Kudos to you!
